Anxiety & emotional wellbeing
Space to talk. Practical support to move forward.
Our proposed anxiety pathway combines a careful assessment with talking therapies, supported self-help and clinician-selected treatment where appropriate.
Understand what
you are experiencing.
An assessment would explore your worries, physical symptoms, triggers, how long symptoms have lasted, and their effect on sleep, work, relationships and daily life. It would also consider your mental and physical health, current medicines, previous support and safety needs.
Different anxiety-related concerns need different approaches. A clinician may recommend further assessment or another service if the proposed First Reach pathway is not suitable.
CBT and
supported self-help.
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) can help people understand links between thoughts, feelings and behaviours and develop practical ways to respond to anxiety.
Depending on the assessment, guided self-help, structured exercises or work with an appropriately qualified therapist may be considered. Therapy and referral arrangements are being developed and are not yet available through this website.
Relaxation and
everyday coping.
Calming breathing, relaxation approaches, sleep routines and appropriate physical activity can support wellbeing alongside a wider plan. Supported practice can help people find techniques that fit their circumstances.
These approaches complement assessment and therapy. They do not replace more specialist care when that is needed.
Clinical decisions.
Planned follow-up.
Where appropriate, a clinician may consider medical treatment after discussing expected benefits, risks, interactions, alternatives and your preferences. Any prescription depends on individual assessment and the clinic’s approved protocols.
The proposed pathway includes planned review of symptoms, daily functioning, progress and side effects, with changes to care where necessary. Review timing, monitoring and contact arrangements will be explained before booking becomes available.
Finding support now.
You can explore independent talking-therapy services while First Reach develops this pathway. NHS Talking Therapies offers a self-referral route for anxiety and depression in England; eligibility and waiting times vary locally.
Clear responsibility.
Personal decisions.
Smiths Medical Group Ltd is responsible for clinical assessment, prescribing decisions and clinical governance. First Reach Digital Ltd manages the website and non-clinical administration. Any prescribed medicines are subject to independent checks by Jayty Ltd through Inspire Pharmacy — Ibstock.
An appointment does not guarantee treatment or a prescription. If online care is unsuitable, further examination, investigation or another service may be needed.
