PATIENT SAFETY
How we keep
your data safe.
Identity checks and a clearer understanding of your health help support an appropriate clinical assessment.
Identity verification with Stripe Identity
We use Stripe Identity to help confirm your identity and protect against impersonation. You will be guided through the verification process and told which documents or images are required.

Reviewing your GP records through ORB
With your permission, our clinical provider, Smiths Medical Group Ltd, uses ORB to review available information from your NHS GP record, including recorded medicines, allergies and relevant medical history. This helps your clinician assess whether treatment is suitable for you.
Records may not contain everything, so please also tell your clinician about all medicines you take and any recent changes to your health. These checks support your clinical assessment; completing them does not guarantee a prescription.
Record access depends on your permission and the information available through ORB. Its connection with NHS England does not mean that every UK GP record is available.
Checks support your clinician’s assessment
Identity verification and record review do not replace a consultation, any necessary examination or your clinician’s professional judgement. Treatment is offered following an appropriate clinical assessment. A consultation does not guarantee a prescription.
Please discuss all prescription medicines, medicines bought without a prescription, supplements, allergies and recent health changes with your clinician, including anything missing from your GP record.
Your information and verification choices
The documents, images and other information requested depend on the verification checks enabled. We have not yet confirmed whether the clinic’s verification setup will include selfie matching.
If selfie matching is enabled, Stripe compares a photograph of your face with the photograph on your identity document. This involves facial biometric processing. This must be explained before verification begins and in the clinic’s privacy notice, with the applicable consent and information about your choices.
The clinic’s full privacy notice is not yet published. Details of the checks enabled, the information received by each organisation, how it is used and shared, retention periods and your rights need to be set out before live verification begins.
