Finding a
qualified therapist.

The BABCP public directory lets you look for accredited cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) practitioners, including those offering remote sessions. Check a practitioner’s current status, relevant experience, availability and fees before arranging care.

Support alongside
medical care.

Talking therapies can help you explore feelings, habits and coping strategies. A therapist or helpline cannot replace the medical assessment, prescribing decisions or monitoring you may need.

First Reach’s therapy and referral arrangements are not yet confirmed. Before any future referral, you should know who provides the care, who pays and what information will be shared.

Changing medicines
safely.

Do not stop benzodiazepines abruptly. Stopping suddenly can cause serious withdrawal symptoms, including seizures. Speak with your prescriber about any change and the support you need.
